He tells my best friend he wants to get with me then when i ask him he just shrugs and says i dunno?

A girl i know also likes him so we had a big fight this is when he wanted to be my boyfriend me and the girl made up and the girl wanted to ask him if either of us had a chance soooo then i went wih her and he said neither of us had a chance... Any help???!
