Not real sure where to post this one!?

Ok I am 26 years old my wife is 24. We have been married for almost 9 years (we started very young) We have 3 children together. I am going in on monday to start the vasectomy procedure. Am I jumping the gun on this? Have any guys here got this done? If so how was the pain? (I am terrible with pain) Did you have a complications? I want to do this because we don't want anymore kids and I feel it was hard enough for her to carry and birth all of my children so the least I can do is save her a surgery to get her tubes tied! Right?
