Can doing Pilates help with weight-loss?

I'm 20 yrs old, 224lbs and 5 ft 4 in tall. At my heaviest a few months ago I was 230lbs. I strayed off my walking regimen and now I'm trying to get back on it after having a strange episode one morning of waking up cold (under a thick blanket) and feeling my heart beat irregularly with some chest pain. I'm trying to get back to walking but since my college is no longer near the park I was going to, I find myself trying to at least walk around the block and local neighborhoods before cl and work. Anything is better than nothing, but I sweat a lot and I certainly don't want to go to cl and work musty. I'm watching what I eat (cutting out greasy foods) and have started drinking green tea at least twice a day. I've decided to start doing Pilates to help fill in the gaps and tone everything up. I figure that with at least some walking and Pilates I might see some progress.
