Is it ok to use self adhesive vinyl tiles for my vivarium?

I used to work in a vets and we actually had a young corn snake come in stuck to a vinyl tile we had to use washing up liquid and water to remove it. the snake was ill with shock for a few days, it survived but maybe next time wouldn't have been so lucky. What the owner thinks happened is because of the heat in the viv ,the vinyl tiles never cured and stuck permanently. i hope this gives you a reason to why everyone says no.
