Micrsoftword problem.. My word wouldn't open again?

It is giving me a File Conversion screen instead of opening my file. It screen gives me the option of selecting the encoding that make my doent readable but none of this is opeing my doent. Please, help because I don't have a backup copy of this doent... What can I do to get my doent back?
