What strategic actions are needed if one aspires to be a millionaire by age 55?

The are many gurus who proclaim that their plans/answer will work but almost always it"s just rhetoric. There are also many books being written which claim to be the answer like Rich dad poor dad ! I believe there is no magic step or short cut to be a millionaire, what are your steps?
