Graduation party?

I live far from all my family and family friends. They live downstate and i live up north michigan. We are worried that if i have my graduation party at my house that only my friends and some family friends that live up here will come. I have thought of 2 parties one for friends up here and one downstate but i decided i just wanted one and to get it done and over with. What i'm asking is where should i have my party at? Upstate or downstate. If so downstate at a park or recreational area. I just need some advice and answers
